Bridal Alterations FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
I recommend contacting me to schedule your alterations as soon as you order your dress. Your first fitting will typically take place 3 to 4 months before your wedding date, but my schedule fills quickly, and I only take on a limited number of brides each month.
Booking early helps ensure you have a spot on my calendar and allows plenty of time for fittings and alterations before your wedding day.
Most brides will need 3 to 5 fittings, depending on the gown, the alterations required, and any customizations being made.
Every dress is different, and my goal is to ensure your gown fits beautifully and comfortably for your wedding day
Please bring your shoes and undergarments to every fitting. These items are essential for ensuring your gown is fitted and hemmed correctly.
If you have not purchased your wedding shoes yet, please bring a pair with a heel height similar to the shoes you plan to wear on your wedding day. Even a small difference in heel height can affect the length and fit of your gown.
For the best results, bring:
- Wedding shoes or shoes with a similar heel height
- The bra or support garments you plan to wear
- Shapewear, if applicable
- Any accessories that may affect the fit of your gown
The cost of alterations varies depending on your gown and the amount of work involved. Every dress is unique, and pricing is based on the specific alterations needed and the time required to complete them.
During your first fitting, I will evaluate your gown, discuss the alterations needed, and provide a quote based on the work discussed at that time.
Please note that any additional alterations requested after the initial fitting may result in additional charges.
A $100 deposit is required at your first fitting to reserve your place on my alterations schedule. The remaining balance is due when you pick up your gown.
I accept:
- Cash

Sorry, I do not accept credit cards.
Yes! If you would like any fabric, lace, buttons, beading, or other materials saved from your gown during the alterations process, please let me know at your first fitting.
Many brides choose to keep these materials for:
- Future gown repairs or adjustments
- Creating a keepsake, garter, or handkerchief
- Adding details to a veil or accessory
- Sentimental reasons
Unless requested, I may not save all materials removed during alterations, so please let me know at the beginning of the process if you would like anything set aside.
